Z cards........

Well what a better way to spend a miserable day yesterday than making cards!
I have seen lots of this style card but never made one so I decided to give it a go.
The piece of A4 card is cut at an angle - I measured 1" from the top on one short edge and
3 1/2" from the bottom of the opposite edge and cut from one mark to the other.
Scored it at 3 7/8", moved this score mark to the 3 7/8" score point and scored again. Fold the scored lines, you will have a little extra bit that you can trim off. You now have your card ready to decorate however you wish.

I have used Flower Shop and petite Petals for these cards. Just remember if over hanging anything that you make sure it fits in your envelope! Otherwise you will have to make one to fit the card, not a problem if you have an envelope board! This fits a DL size envelope.

The stamps I've used are from Flower Shop and Petite Petals and have a matching punch which is very useful when using lots of flowers.
The base card is Naturals Ivory and hardwood stamp is stamped in Crumb Cake.
The flowers have been stamped onto Naturals Ivory & Vanilla to give a different look and depth, in Tempting Turquoise and Tangerine Tango.
I have stamped the flap of the envelope too and decorated the front.
I haven't added anything to the centres of the flowers as I like it as it is, but you could add pearls, rhinestones, stamped and punched centres, stickles liquid pearls etc.

This colour combination is the base card is Sahara Sand with Hardwood stamped in Tempting Turquoise (stamped off to give a lighter look). Flowers the same as in the first card.

This is the card closed and the back to add your message. You could add a verse in the inside fold if you wanted.

When Martyn came home I said I would love to receive an envelope stamped like that on the flap, it's so pretty. His reply - give that to me then and I'll send it to you!!!!

Hope you give this style a try and I would love to see what you create

Pinterest inspiration.....

I saw this idea on Pinterest (see the pin on my Pinterset Craft  Ideas board) and when I found some lovely jars in Matalan I gave it a go over the weekend

The idea is to use hole re-inforcers and nail varnish to decorate glass jars. So you stick the re-inforcers onto the jar paint over the hole with nail varnish, let it dry and then remove the sticker, and you have a lovely spot!

I already had some re-inforcers and plenty of nail varnish!!!
The hardest part was knowing when to stop LOL. I found I painted some spots, let them dry removed the stickers and then filled in any gaps.

I then got to thinking I could punch out any shape out of label stickers, so did some larger spots and some Christmas trees.I didn't have any green nail varnish, not a colour I wear! I did have some turquoise so used that and when it had dried used Holly Stickles and dabbed on with a brush. I found it was then best to remove the sticker straightaway as the ones I left longer to dry were pulling the nail varnish off. I did try liquid pearls but it didn't work at all it just pulled off with the sticker.

I added some gold stickles to the tops of the trees. Stars would be lovely too in gold and I've got some lovely shimmery red nail varnish to think how I can use it. Snowflakes also spring to mind. They would make nice candle jars - and any glass jar could be used so don't throw your nice shaped jars away!

I wanted something to store my washi tape in and what better way than in one of these. I can now see all the colours & patterns I have.

I have some cupcake cases in a square glass jar in my kitchen, an idea Natalie found on Pinterest too. It took me a long time to find  a jar wide enough to get them in and out and not too big - these are perfect.

The large jars are 2 for £5 and the small 4 for £4. They have a rubber seal too so food stuff would keep Ok in them.

I think they would make lovely presents - and addition of a tag and maybe homemade cookies, chocolates or sweets would make it even more special.

Zoo Babies collection

A collection of card, envelope, gift bag & tag using the Zoo Baby stamp set.
I had a lovely time cutting out the little animals and trying different colours. Who says there can't be a blue elephant, monkey, zebra & crocodile!

I used the Pop N Cuts card and this time decorated the front of the card too.
