From the Herd stamp

I just love the expressions on the faces of the animals on this stamp and the words you get with it covering lots of different options to be able to use it.
I love colouring too so ticks that box and you can cut out parts of the animals to decoupage and the three at the front you can ink separately with a pen to get individual animals.

I made a card for my manager at work for the last 6 months who was leaving after his temporary placement.
It was going to be from the whole team but after a mix up I gave it from me and stuck the words "just for you" over "From the Herd"

He loved it and said it was the "coolest" card he had ever received!

They would make cute frames too.

I coloured the animals with blendabilities, decoupaged the noses of the cow and pig as well as adding crystal effects and of course the googly eyes LOL.

The background was sponged with Soft Sky and Pear Pizzaz.
The sign is the Handpicked framelits again with the Hardwood stamp to make it look like  wooden sign. I slit the card and pushed it in to make it look as if it was stuck int the grass!
The balloons are in the set which I stamped, coloured and cut out and added some crystal effects too, to give more depth and texture.

Berry basket raffle prize

As it was Scrapaholix on Valentines day I decided to make a basket for the raffle prizes as I had just got the new die from Stampin Up and wanted to try it out!

It takes 1 sheet of A4 cardstock cutting the die twice to make the basket.
It also cuts a straight and a scallop strip to put along the top edge of the basket which helps to strengthen it. I used the scallop on the outside and the straight on the inside, but you culd do it the opposite or cut more and use the same on the inside and outside.

The signs are Handpicked framelits  with a choclate heart stuck onto one!
I made the handle with a strip of red glimmer paper punche using the heart border opunch and stuck it onto a piece of black card.
The bow is the new Bow Builder punch

There are so many occasions these little baskets can be used for I think I will have fun creating and choosing what to fill them with.

Won't they make great Easter baskets.

Scrapaholix February kit

Don't know why I haven't shared my Scrapaholix pages before but will try and remember to add them eaach month.

So here are Februarys kit pages.

The paper is gorgeous and didn't need a lot of embellishment especially with a lot of photo's A bottle of Crackle Accents was included in the kit. I used this on the letters and the chipboard scrolls and added some texture to them - it does take a while to "crack" so if you use it don't think it's not working!

I did a second page using Project Life page protector. If you don't have one then you can       use the same design on a 12 x 12 sheet of card stock. It's a good way of
using patterned paper too.
I haven't used photo's on this page as I wanted it to be about the journaling and messages on the bench, but you can add photo's onto the card stock or use a photo instead of it.

Valentine fundraisers.

Next Wednesday at work the office is having a healthy heart day and raising funds for
The British heart Foundation.
As I'm on holiday (yippee!) I decided last Monday afternoon to make some valentines things to sell as my contribution. I love making different things so it gave me an excuse to do so!

Well, I should have thought about it sooner and made a lot more as they had all sold by 1pm and some people never even got to see them.
They made £56 I was amazed - so it was worth a few late nights :)

Sorry for the quality of the photo's but they were taken late at night or
early morning in the dark!

Made using the fry box die and the Stacked with love DSP to line the back.
A mix of stamps and die cut words to decorate, and of course Rolo's!
I saw this idea online though it was using American sweets. I found these striped sticks in Home Bargains.
These bags were from last years catalogue that I still had so put them to good use.
You could make the bags with the new Mini Treat bag framelit.
The heart is from Hearts a Flutter and made a great base to add other things for decoration. Washi tape from the current Spring/summer catalogue was used to seal the bags and meant it could be sealed again. They contained 5 red foil heart shaped chocolates.

The next set of cards use a jar stamp (not Stampin Up) and the punched hearts using the new heart border punch from red glimmer paper. A bit of patient glueing whilst watching TV!
Some I have used the new heart embossing folder too.

The last 2 cards use a set from the Sale-A-Bration You Brighten My Day.
I saw a great card using this set which was my inspiration

Final Christmas make....

....not by me but by Martyn!

I had seen these reindeer's at peter Barratts and also along the back road where they sell Christmas trees. Despite Martyn going that way to work everyday and me telling him about them he hadn't seen them.
We went to Peter Barratts on the 22nd December and there they were again, so he had a look and said "I can make them and I've got some wood too" So after our day out he got to work in his shed. He had it made in a few hours apart from the antlers.

The next day we went looking for something suitable and found some plastic holly which means it will last too.

He made another and gave it to James & Natalie on Christmas day.

Lots of people have asked if he can make one for them so think he will be busy providing he can get the wood!

Christmas makes part 3

A different chocolate creation courtesy of a Lakeland mould.

I asked Martyn if he had some wood to make a board for it to go on because a square shiny one wouldn't have been right. I considered a plastic chopping board and covered with icing but liked the idea of a wood board.
Luckily he had some wood and finished it off nicely for me.

I kept breaking the reindeer antlers then remembered when I did all the chocolate buttons for the wedding and the paper clay about putting them in the freezer, so that's what I did and that did the trick.

I loved filling the sleigh with goodies. I used Stampin up bags and filled with chocolates, jelly beans and tided some candy canes together too.
The Santa was from Aldi.

It lasted until New Years Eve after visiting a few houses and going back to James & Nat's where James destroyed it with a hammer!

Christmas makes part 2....

A card using Stampin Up stamps & punches with a gold theme.
I like to add depth & texture with different techniques, heat embossing, stamped images, punched card and embellishments.

The bag is Stampin Up Petite Cafe gift bag great for decorating.
The star was made with the star framelits. To create the raised start in the centre score each point to the opposite side of the star and the fold mountain and valley style and then stick to a piece of card, I've used a larger star but you could use any shape and even the same size star.

Christmas makes part 1

I wasn't going to post Christmas things as we are now in February, but I do like having things all in the one place for me to look back on especially if some-one asks me about something months down the line.
So I will share a few things over the next week.

Firstly some cushions I made for James & Natalie.
I bought the material in 2013 and never got round to making them. To be honest I forgot I had the material and found it when I was looking for Halloween stuff in the cupboards. So I was determined to get them made.

The material is East of India, I was originally going to make the front & back in the same material but I decided to just use it on the front and make more cushions. I couldn't get any to match so went for a contrast and used a tartan but you can't see it!

I made a little heart too with some of the spare material which they hung on their tree.
I really enjoy sewing and am going to do more this year.
I have in fact been doing a lot of sewing the last 2 weeks but can't share yet as it's for a present in March, but will do so after then.
